Avocados from Mexico launches Cinco de Mayo promotion | Supermarket Perimeter

DALLAS — Avocados From Mexico (AFM) is partnering with Mission Foods and Modelo for a Cinco de Mayo promotion.

The partnership includes in-store displays, consumer savings, sweepstakes, digital and social activations to inspire shoppers to create party snacks and recipes. The program runs through May 9 and features:

"Cinco de Mayo represents a great opportunity to showcase the essence and origin of Avocados From Mexico – the spirit of Mexicanity," said Stephanie Bazan, vice president of shopper and trade marketing at Avocados From Mexico. "It's important for us to connect with shoppers as they get ready to celebrate this holiday with friends and family. And by partnering with perfect avocado pairings like Mission chips and tortillas and Modelo beer, we're making it convenient for shoppers to find all the essentials they need for Cinco parties."

Cinco shoppers double their basket spend when buying chips and avocados, according to AFM. They also spend 1.7 times more when buying beer and avocados, compared to when avocados are not in the basket. Cinco de Mayo avocado shoppers are also frequent shoppers, making 19.4 trips per year compared to the average avocado shoppers at 10.7 trips per year.
